Knowledge-Based Software Engineering
Difficulties associated with the engineering of complex software
systems have manifested themselves in a crisis of software
productivity. Knowledge-based software engineering attempts to
address these ever-increasing difficulties in developing, extending
and maintaining software. The Knowledge-Based Software Engineering
(KBSE) Research Group conducts basic research into a number of areas
associated with software engineering and artificial intelligence,
including:
- knowledge-based design
- intelligent object repositories
- knowledge-based transformation and specification systems
- intelligent interfaces
- domain modeling techniques
- software reuse strategies
- intelligent agent architectures
The Knowledge-Based Software Engineering group is part of the Advanced Collaborative Systems Laboratory.
